Press Conference, Friday October 9th 2009
On Friday October 9th a press conference was organized at the Headquarters of the Region of Lombardy. Only a few days away from the official start of the Games, the Federation and the local organizing committee were pleased to welcome already at this moment the necessary attention for the 11th IFIUS World Interuniversity Games.

Opening Ceremony Monday October 12th 2009
On Monday all teams were welcomed by the IACC (International Arbitration and Control Commission) for the accreditations of the players and officials at the main building of the Host University, the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC). The first day of the Games was concluded with the Opening Ceremony at the Host University where Dr. Michele Lenoci of the Host University, IFIUS founder, Peter Verboven, the Minister of Sport of the Region of Lombardy, Pier Ganni Prosperini, on behalf of the Province of Milan, P. Frassinetti, and M. Palmeri, President of the Milan City Council, welcomed all students and officials. Furthermore a student from the host university UCSC and a referee of the Italian Volleyball Federation made the official oaths to participate in the Games according the IFIUS rules and fair play guidelines. Finally, IFIUS President, Dr. B. Ghadimi, officially opened the Games.

General Assembly, Wednesday October 14th 2009
On Wednesday the General Assembly was organized, hosted by the host university UCSC.
Closing Ceremony, Friday October 16th 2009
The The Closing Ceremony welcomed the General Director of the host university, the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, M. Gatti, who thanked IFIUS for the Milan 2009 Games. Next, Dr. P.P. Esteban, Vice Rector of the 2010 host university, Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera, addressed the audience, specifying that Valencia and the new host university are exited to host the 2010 IFIUS Games.
After these warm words, the General Director of the host university, the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, M. Gatti, handed over the IFIUS flag to IFIUS President Ghadimi who passed the IFIUS flag to Dr. P.P. Esteban, Vice Rector of the 2010 host university, Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera, officially introducing the start of the preparations for the Valencia 2010 Games. At the end of the Ceremony, IFIUS founder and Vice President Peter Verboven and IFIUS President Dr. Ghadimi handed over honoring trophies to all parties involved in the 11th World Interuniversity Games. The Games were finalized as IFIUS President, Dr. Ghadimi, officially closed the Games. The Closing Ceremony was followed by a reception with walking dinner.
