IFIUS becomes a supporting member of IPPA
Today IFIUS is honored to announce the approval by IPPA, the International Pitch&Putt Association, for accepting IFIUS as a supporting member of IPPA. Both the IFIUS Executive Committee and Robert Uggla, Secretary General of IPPA, feel that this new cooperation will improve the quality of the Games and promote the involvement and participation of the Interuniversity community to the World Interuniversity Games Pitch & Putt.
IFIUS Staff Visit Valencia
This month, the IFIUS Staff visited the 2010 Host City to look at the progress in the organization of the Valencia 2010 Games. Meetings with the Local Organizing Committee, the Host University, stewards,... were scheduled. In addition, the competition venues, including the Golf and Pitch&Putt course, were visited. The IFIUS Staff was excited to see that all organizational aspect were on schedule and that there is a lot of interest in volunteering for the Games.
Valencia 2010 Participation Requests, the Story So Far
It is with great pleasure that IFIUS announces that the registration period for the Valencia 2010 has been very successful. For the first time in the history of the Federation, we have confirmed participation requests from Australia and Algeria. Thus adding 2 extra continents to the already extensive list of registrations we have received from Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Because the high number of information requests we have received from teams that still want to participate and the fact that our communication campaign in the Middle East region is still in progress, the IFIUS Executive Committee have decided to prolong the registration period for the 12th IFIUS World Interuniversity Games Valencia 2010. Universities or Colleges still interested in participating in the Games can still contact the Federation or fill out the registration page on the Valencia pages.
IFIUS Website is Breaking Records
The results of the very successful communication campaign for the 12th IFIUS World Interuniversity Games Valencia 2010 are shown by the number of visitors on the website. Never before has the Federation seen so many people visiting the IFIUS website in this period of the year. Also, the great number of interest IFIUS is receiving from universities and colleges who want to participate in the Valencia 2010 Games is remarkable. Consequently, IFIUS has already received a promising number of participation requests.

Communication Campaign Valencia 2010 Games
IFIUS is pleased to announce today the start of the communication campaign for the 12th World Interuniversity Games Valencia 2010. The Valencia pages of the official IFIUS website are launched in addition to the mailing of the invitations. On the Valencia 2010 pages (www.ifius.com/valencia) you will find more details about the 12th World Interuniversity Games and how to participate. Next to this, an interactive campaign is also started to inform even more Universities and Colleges about the IFIUS Family and the Valencia 2010 Games.

IFIUS Vice President visits Valencia to start the organisation of the World Interuniveristy Games 2010.
On Wednesday 18 November 2009 the IFIUS Vice President, Mister Peter Verboven, met with the Rector of the "Universidad CEU Cardinal Herrera", José Alberto Parejo Gámir to officially sign the Hosting of the IFIUS World Interuniveristy Games 2010 in Valencia. Mr. Peter Verboven explained that IFIUS is very honoured to have the prestegious Universidad CEU Cardinal Herrara as Host University for next year.
Following the meeting with the Rector further details of the organisation were discussed with the Vice Rector, Pilar Paricio Esteban, "Vicerrectora de Alumnos y Relaciones Institucionales". It was immediately very clear that the Host University will organise games of a very high standard and quality with the best venues and locations available.

During the 11th IFIUS World Interuniversity Games Milan 2009, for the first time in the history of the Federation, combined Golf and Pitch&Putt was placed on the official competition programme. This competition proved to be an immediate success with a high standard competition during the Milan 2009 Games.
